Raven on the Road: Vancouver Island

 |

I think I found my new home! How fortunate are we to have been able to spend a week on Vancouver Island. Our first stop was Victoria where the company had a few days off to spend checking out the place. This was much needed giving our tour to 65 communities across Canada. I couldn't believe it was winter! We had some beautiful sunny days, which made the week all the better. Our performances in Victoria were all well received; we had some huge audiences and some small ones depending on the communities and the audiences loved it all the same

About mid-week we headed towards Nanaimo and made a quick stop off in Cowichan Bay. Nicole and I were able to pick up our treasure of the trip, a hand-made Cowichan sweater.

We performed for four schools in Nanaimo. One of our schools, Randerson Ridge, even had a Raven as their mascot! How appropriate is that! After Nanaimo we headed North for Quadra Island. It was a quick stay but a very memorable one. We all have a soft spot in our hearts for Quadra after our stay. It was really wonderful performing for such a warm crowd and feeling that sense of community. We were sad to leave.

Our next stop is Prince George. Two boat rides and an eight hour drive ahead of us! Wish us luck!
